In 1998, Republic Metals was the first precious metals refinery to be registered under ISO 14001, an international standard which requires registrants to institute a strict and detailed management system for environmental performance. ISO 14001 is the world’s most recognized environmental system framework and being registered means that our environmental management system has been measured against an international best practice and found to meet or exceed those requirements. Further information on the ISO 14000 international standard can found here: ISO 14001
Our continuing registration means that not only do we have a commitment to the environment, but that we have an enduring system in place to assure both environmental compliance and continuous environmental improvement. Our goal is to improve the quality of our service and products while at the same time reducing the energy, emissions, and raw material footprint of our operation. Our formal Environmental Policy can be found here: Environmental Policy
We have a team of Environmental and Safety experts on staff to assure our customer’s materials are processed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. All of our associates receive frequent Environmental and Safety training to assure conformance with our ISO 14001 commitments and government requirements. We strive every day to continue to have the best environmental and safety performance in our industry.
